Unlocked Mobile Phones Information |
Unlocked mobile phones can be used with various SIM
cards all
over the world. In other words, the users of unlocked mobile phones are
able to use the GSM service of other providers while traveling to other
countries. It is cheaper and, of course, more convenient.
Such companies as Nokia,
Samsung,
Sony Ericsson, Siemens
and many others provide the unlocked mobile phones. To be precise,
these companies provide the consumers with the phones which don't not
require any particular service provider, carrier or operator. So, the
user of such mobile phones
doesn't have to turn to service only of
some particular operator with special settings for Internet and MMS.
Such phones are called OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), just
because they are sold directly from manufacturers and have an
international warranty.
The other type of unlocked mobile phones are the devices which come
from a carrier, provider or operator. These cellar phones were locked
for some provider (T-Mobile
phones, for example) and than are unlocked
by means of unlocking codes or software. The user can observe the
operator's logos in the menus of mobile phones and can't use the
Internet or MMS settings of other operators. Locked mobile phones are
sold with considerable discounts which are covered by the provider, who
reckon on the further profits from consumers.
The other thing is what should you do if your mobile phone is locked?
As a rule, providers offer you to unlock your phone for free of for a
fee. In the United States T-Mobile or AT&T Mobility offer the
user
the unlocking codes only after 90 days of the full price. Some people
prefer to unlock their mobile phones without the permission from a
provider. As a rule, most countries have no specific laws which
prohibit the removal of SIM locks. For example, it is prohibited by law
to sell locked phones in Belgium and Finland (except 3D models). Hong
Kong is the country where selling of locked phones is not prohibited.
The USA is the country where the unlocking of mobile phones were
allowed only since 2006 and will expire in three years.
